Program Overview

This six week hands-on training program designed for students seeking practical skills in professional clothing alterations. Students learn to alter women's, men's, and children's garments while developing accuracy, workmanship, and customer service skills. 

 

Instruction begins with basic alteration techniques and progresses to intermediate applications.  During the final two weeks, students participate in "A Day in the Life," a supervised practicum that simulates the daily workflow of an alterations department.

 

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible for supervised participation in AFIs Education-to-Employment (E2E) Service, providing additional opportunities to observe or assist with live customer projects while gaining real-world experience.
