AFI Greenhaven — Main Campus | Fashion Design Careers 

Greenhaven is AFI's main instructional campus and supports the full range of AFI program areas, including Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Business and Administrative Studies, Sewing, Pattern Engineering, specialized technical training and project-based instruction. The main campus also serves as AFI's primary technical and lab-based instructional location for courses requiring specialized sewing, construction or product-development equipment.

Understanding the AFI Instructional Cycle

AFI operates on an Instructional Cycle rather than a traditional semester schedule. Courses are scheduled according to program progression, prerequisite completion, active program cohorts and current instructional offerings.

Published calendar dates identify classes currently scheduled at this AFI location. Eligible program students may repeat previously completed courses when the course is being offered to an active class or cohort, subject to program eligibility and available seating.

Note: Prerequisite courses are offered monthly on a rotating basis within Sewing, Design, Pattern Engineering and Business subject areas. Students must complete applicable prerequisites before advancing into designated program development areas.

Class Calendar & Registration

AFI class calendars are published and updated throughout the year. Students and prospective students are encouraged to join the school email list for notification of new schedules, registration openings and new class offerings.

• Class Kits and Materials 

• Program Students: Program-enrolled students receive priority access to classes required for their current instructional progression. Eligible students may also register for available repeat offerings in accordance with their program benefits. Click Here to register for an eligible class.

• Open Institute / Non-Program Students: Students may register for individual classes that are open to public enrollment and have available seating. Click Here to pay for and register for an Open Institute class.

• Joining an Active Class: Students may be permitted to join an active class when registration remains open, prerequisites have been satisfied where applicable, and seating is available.

• Registration Deadlines: Registration deadlines apply to all classes. Click the individual class title on the calendar for registration dates, prerequisites and additional class information.

• Schedule Adjustments: Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient registration or adjusted when instructional, enrollment or operational needs require a schedule change. Registered students affected by a cancellation or schedule change will be notified.

• Registration Availability: Registration is accepted only for classes currently published on the AFI calendar.

• Cancellation / No-Show Policy: All registrations are subject to AFI's applicable cancellation, no-show and refund policies.
