AFI operates on an Instructional Cycle. Courses are scheduled according to program progression, prerequisite completion and active program cohorts rather than a traditional semester system. Published class dates identify current instructional offerings. Eligible program students may attend repeat offerings when the course is active, subject to prerequisites, program eligibility and available seating.​

Note: Prerequisite courses are offered monthly on a rotating basis within Sewing, Design, Pattern Engineering and Business subject areas. Students must complete required prerequisites before advancing into applicable program development areas.
